About the competition

In 2009 Neil Walsh made the journey to what is probably the largest youth football tournament in the world, the "Schwan USA Cup".  Neil took part as one of the refereeing officials who come from across the globe to make this event what it is....a truely world-wide tournament, with many teams from across the globe attending.

This year Neil will once again be attending but will also be accompanied by Paul Redhead.  Paul is currently a member of the Sky Blues Under 18's squad for the forthcoming season and will also be a referee official at this years 2010 Schwan USA Cup.  Both Neil and Paul will be officiating around 21 matches apiece during the 2 week tournament (so no holiday!).

Sky Blues wish both Neil and Paul the very best on what we hope will be a memorable experience.

Schwan's USA CUP is played at the National Sports Center in Blaine, Minnesota. The tournament is located 20 minutes from the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul. The tournament was started in 1985 by the Sons of Norway, a fraternal benefit organization and was originally modeled after Norway Cup.
